2020 Pre-Writing Language Features

We are learning about language features.
1. Simile: My fan was as cold as the morning wind.
2. Metaphor: The snow is a white blanket.
3. Personification: The rain was loud like kids at a park.
4. Hyperbole: He was massive, like a bear.
5. Onomatopoeia: The man jumped into the water splash, everyone was wet.
6. Understatement: While standing in Canada in the middle of winter. "It's a bit chilly out."
7. Oxymoron: Alone together.
8. Consonance: The fair breeze blew, the white feather flew.
9. Anaphora: He came, he looked, he left.
10. Epistrophe: Schoolwork sucks. Schoolwork really sucks. Schoolwork truly sucks.
11. Chiasmus: We must yell to be heard, to be heard we must yell.
12. Isocolon: Never forget. Never forgive.
13. Tricolon: The strong, the weak, and the evil.
14. Epizeuxis: Die. die. die.
